Last week, our Hog Roast Greasley team had the privilege of helping Ellie and Robert celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary with one of our tantalisingly tasty menu plans!
When the pair initially approached us weeks before the celebration, they had expressed their desire to commemorate the special occasion properly, and so, they had organised a small-ish get-together of 40 people, which included a mix of their closest friends and family members of all ages. With plenty of garden space to make use of, the couple had planned to host the party at their countryside home, and they needed us to do the honours of cooking and serving a delicious meal that everyone – even the kids – would be guaranteed to enjoy.
Our catering manager, James, is always up for a challenge, so when Ellie and Robert set him the task of coming up with the perfect meal plan for the occasion, he promised to deliver. And after going over the options in more depth with the clients, it was eventually decided that our Southern Slow Roast Menu, with the added option of hot dogs for the youngsters, would best suit the event.
When the day of the couple’s anniversary arrived, Hog Roast Greasley made the relatively short trip to Ellie and Robert’s gorgeous home, where the first thing they noticed was the party set-up. The vast outdoor space had been transformed into a rustic paradise to coordinate with the wood theme that is traditionally associated with 5th anniversaries. Reclaimed wood tables and matching chairs had been set up inside the marquee tent, and a balloon arch, in muted tones, acted as the perfect welcome.
After introducing themselves to the happy couple, James and the team launched themselves into action, and within hours their hard work had resulted in a drool-inducing feast of BBQ pork butt, Texas 24 hour beef brisket and fall off the bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs with juicy, gourmet hot dogs, a meat-free option of BBQ pulled jackfruit and a selection of delicious sauces. For the sides, Hog Roast Greasley whipped up our speciality coleslaw, potato salad, seasonal veg and mac and cheese.
Just as Ellie and Robert had hoped, the food was a big hit among everyone involved, and the group had a wonderful time celebrating!
