If there’s one day we look forward to every year, it’s the 18th of December. Why is that, I hear you ask? Well, because it’s National Hog Roast Day, of course!
As if we needed any more excuses to roll out the HogMaster and fire up a meaty, free-range pig, along comes this lesser-known holiday to make sure that everyone remembers to indulge in the delicious delicacy that is a hog roast – even though, for us, every day is Hog Roast Day!
I mean, really, what’s not to love about them? Just picture yourself biting into a crusty, lightly floured roll, and in one mouthful, you experience the soft and succulent texture of the shredded pork, the saltiness of the crisp, bubbled crackling, the seasoning and spices of the stuffing and the sweetness of the applesauce. If heaven tasted of anything, it would be a hog roast – guaranteed!
Because we’re so passionate about what we do, the Hog Roast Blidworth team eagerly anticipates how this day will be spent, so as always, we can barely contain our excitement for what lies ahead of us this year!
In celebration of the occasion, Hog Roast Blidworth’s catering crew has been asked to attend one of the last open-air markets of the year before the Christmas period commences, where we’ll serve our trademark Classic Hog Roast Menu, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions of our homemade mulled wine, traditional mince pies with brandy cream, and few extra side options for the guests to choose from, too.
The client, Derek, seems just as excited as we are about the event and has invited other vendors along to serve cocktails (and mocktails), craft beer, real ale and freshly baked treats. There will also be stalls selling last-minute Christmas gifts and festive decorations.
We’re all expecting the day to be incredibly busy throughout, but a lot of fun too, and we hope to be able to form lasting connections with local businesses and punters alike!
On that note, from all of us here at Hog Roast Blidworth, we hope you have a brilliant day!
