Lisa and James have always been untraditional, so it made sense for them to want an untraditional wedding. Rather than a big summer reception, they chose to have an intimate celebration close to their home in Nottinghamshire. For the reception, the couple hired Hog Roast Chilwell to cater for the event, since we have the ideal menu for a casual party with close friends and family. After looking through our menus, it was decided that our classic hog roast would be ideal for the event, followed by a selection of dessert options. Our catering manager James was more than happy to get involved with this event and to be part of Lisa and James’ special day.
On the day of the event, the Hog Roast Chilwell team arrived at the couples’ home in Nottingham to prepare the menu. We began by preparing the hog and ensuring that it was cooked to perfection, before it was expertly carved by our chef. Once the sliced meat was ready, it was served with fresh bread rolls, sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. Alongside the rolls, the guests also enjoyed homemade chips and a selection of salad dishes. Following the main course, we served sticky toffee pudding and fresh cheesecake, with each dessert accompanied by English cream and fresh berries to create a delicious final course.
