One of the best parts of being a wedding caterer is the extravagance that comes with many wedding receptions. So often a wedding event will take the Hog Roast Mansfield team out to some of the most spectacular venues in the country, filled up with guests that are glitzed and glammed up and ready to simply celebrate the love and joy of life. When you ask our catering team why wedding events are typically our favourites to cater for, that provides a lot of your answer right there.
If our team ever needed a reminder of that, the brilliant wedding reception for Sam and Maddie at the beautiful Cuckney House in Mansfield provided a perfect one. A grade II listed Georgian Manor, Cuckney House was a breathtaking venue to be catering in. We couldn’t help but enveloped within centuries of history, all lovingly kept together and well protected by the owners, along, of course, with some excellent modern flourishes that really makes Cuckney House the full package as far as wedding venues go.
And speaking of full packages, the lovely Sam and Maddie were a joy to work with in the lead up to their wedding, and even more so to actually eventually cater for along with their 50 equally as wonderful guests. With such brilliant guests and a special venue, it was a perfect recipe for our catering to then put the finishing touch to!
Following the wedding ceremony, head chef Darren and the Hog Roast Mansfield team were straight into service. All morning long we had been cooking our signature hog roast, so come the 2pm serving team it was hot and ready to go along with its usual accompaniments of fresh sage and onion stuffing, crispy crackling, and refreshing apple sauce. BBQ pulled jackfruit was made for a veggie alternative, and both servings came with the accompanying sides of freshly made regular sweet potato fries in a colourful medley, red cabbage slaw, mixed salad, and plenty of gluten-free rolls and wraps. Being set up out in the lush manor grounds made this a perfect service in all – both for guests, and the Hog Roast Mansfield team!
