A Pleasant Evening of Birthday Dining at Hog Roast Sutton-in-Ashfield

Hog Roast Sutton in AshfieldLast week the Hog Roast Sutton-in-Ashfield were delighted to join local resident Dave along with 18 family and friends for his very special 80th birthday celebration. A small, intimate occasion spent at home on a lovely summer’s evening, it was a real joy to be able to join the party and cater for such wonderful folk.

Adding to the occasion was our southern slow roast catering, along with a cheeseboard selection to kick things off. As a caterer, Hog Roast Sutton-in-Ashfield will cater for some massive events numbering in the hundreds for guests to feed. We’ve catered massive, lavish events in the biggest venues around the country, along with corporate catering gigs for some of the most prominent names in global business. But all that so often pales in comparison to the joy and privilege that these smaller, more intimate services bring us. To join Dave and co for his birthday celebration was a true delight; head chef Darren and our serving team were instantly made to feel welcomed like we were one of the crew – perhaps that’s because everyone knew we had the foods for the evening, so of course they’d be welcoming! We had excellent local cheeses on offer, along with crackers, a great selection of chutneys, and even fresh fruit for that added summer feel. Pivoting thereafter to something much more in the ‘typical’ Hog Roast Sutton-in-Ashfield wheelhouse, our southern slow roast menu gave Dave and co smoky and spicy dining options to enjoy – namely, our BBQ pork butt, minted quarter of pulled lamb and Texas style beef brisket aged over 24 hours. As a veggie alternative: grilled veg and halloumi skewers with sweet chilli sauce and tzatziki dip. Roasted new potatoes, seasonal leafy greens, and buttered corn cobettes closed out this perfect menu offering.

It’s a good thing that we had such a great time with Dave and co, because already we are scheduled to return to the party once more in August for Pat’s 85th! We’ll have all your favourite Hog Roast Sutton-in-Ashfield dishes prepared for that one again too, gang!
