This was the story of our featured event of this past weekend. A first for August as we slide into the latter third of the summer wedding season, but the surprises and the delights are no less numerous. Hog Roast Sheffield joined Josie and James at the historic Kelham Island Museum where the two tied the knot on their wedding and celebrated with friends and family surrounded by the integral history of Sheffield’s industrial past.
Just about everyone in Sheffield will know all about Kelham Island. Just about everyone has probably been. If you have, then you’ll know that it is an incredible spot filled to the brim with so much of Sheffield’s history in steel making and steam engine design. It is also a beautiful building in its own right, one that can be booked out for such events. Special events like, for example, the wedding of Josie and James.
It was here on Saturday, surrounded by the history of Sheffield, where new history was made. A history of love and joy; a history that stretch on for decades more to fulfil a lifetime and even potentially even beyond. A history that began with one of the best catered meals in all of wedding dining – the catering of Hog Roast Sheffield.
What a beautiful spot it was to cater in. As a caterer local to Sheffield we have been fortunate enough to get to cater on a few occasions inside Kelham Island Museum. Each time we are still blown away by just how special it feels to do so. This event was no less different; being a wedding it was a privilege to be able to share such a special moment in such a special location with Josie, James, and 113 of their closest friends and family. Such an occasion demanded an equally special menu, which our southern slow roast certainly delivered on. The steelworks of Sheffield will certainly know a thing or two about doing things with precision, and our southern slow roast delivered on this too. Tender and flavourful meats cooked low and slow for hours to get all of that intense spicing and smoky BBQ marinade to the fore – a perfect meal for a perfect wedding with Hog Roast Sheffield!
