This winter, Helana and her fiancé are tying the knot at a beautiful venue near the village they grew up in. The wedding is set to have a cosy and rustic theme to perfectly complement the frosty English weather outside, with warm blankets, a roaring fire, fairy lights, and plenty of seasonal flowers. Alongside the venue and décor, the couple also had to plan the catering for the occasion. They found Hog Roast Adbolton when visiting a wedding fair earlier this year and decided that our Al Fresco menu would be perfect for their big day. Our team was happy to get involved with this event and the menu was sure to be ideal for the 80 guests to enjoy.
On the day of the wedding, our team arrived at the venue in the morning to prepare the three courses. The menu began with a delicious sharing platter course, consisting of gourmet meats and cheeses, as well as fresh bread and salad. This was a great way to start the menu and introduce the guests to a variety of different dishes. For the main course, we served a hearty slow-roasted hog accompanied by all of the trimmings, including roasted baby potatoes, seasonal vegetables, sage and onion stuffing, and crispy crackling. This was a great contrast from the light starter and definitely warmed the guests up! The menu ended with dessert, with the guests choosing between sticky toffee pudding and profiteroles. Each dish was accompanied by English cream and fresh berries to ensure that they looked and tasted excellent.
