Hog Roast Eastwood – A Toast to Community and a Big Win Over Your Rivals

Time and again we’ve said it: event catering, at its core, is really all about community. You need only look back through time and see that the big “events” of their day were all about bringing community together. Even our own signature dish, the hog roast, has transcended through centuries of events all around the world. It would have been used as an effective way to feed whole communities during cultural celebrations and marked occasions. Today is no different.

You need only ask the folks at the Eastwood Community Football Club, who earlier this month enjoy a very special chairman’s dinner with the Hog Roast Eastwood team as their caterer. From one Eastwood community hub to another, it was a joy to be a part of an occasion made for the people of the area.

And for this chairman’s dinner there was even more community pride to shout about, because the chairman’s dinner just so happened to follow on from a big win over the team’s heated local rivals. A party already organized and now something well worth toasting to in the community – that’s a perfect mix for event catering in our books.

Following on from the game, friends, families, and locals of the community football club were invited to join at the clubhouse for an evening of drinks and food. As you might expect after such a big derby win, everyone was very much in the mood to celebrate. This created a wonderful atmosphere, one which our Hog Roast Eastwood chefs and servers couldn’t help but revel in. That kind of thing makes our job even more of a privilege.

So, a big win of course calls for a big feast. The Hog Roast Eastwood team were more than up to the task. For serving, we had our signature hog roast along with its usual accompaniments of crackling and stuffing. This joined with our BBQ pulled jackfruit and veg and halloumi skewers alternative, all of which were accompanied by regular and sweet potato fries, fresh tomato and mozzarella salad, gourmet slaw, seasonal leaves, and plenty of rolls and wraps – much needed for soaking up the celebratory drinks!

It was a wonderful occasion to be a part of. The kind of event that again makes us so proud to be a part of the Eastwood community!
