One of the best parts of the job for the whole Hog Roast Tamworth team is the incredible people that we get to meet while out on the road catering for events. One such customer that we would like to tell you about is local Tamworth resident Jayne Ackers.
Celebrating an impressive 85 years of life earlier this month, Jayne invited the Hog Roast Tamworth team out to cater for his birthday celebrations. As a caterer you get to cater for many birthdays, but getting to an age as high as 85 is more of a rarity, so of course catering manager Darren and the Hog Roast Tamworth team were excited to come on out.
And for such an occasion we just knew we needed to cater something truly special. So, we opted for our very special al fresco dining menu. This extraordinary menu takes its inspiration from the outdoor dining of the Mediterranean coast, bringing together delicious Italian meats, cheeses, breads, along with Greek salads, slaws, skewers, and combining 
them with the staple brilliance of our signature hog roast. It’s a great menu for a party in the summer, and it’s a great menu to celebrate 85 years.
For the party of around 60, our menu began with our antipasti platters, boasting all kinds of rich flavours and colours with our finely sliced Italian meats, delicious cheeses, and artisanal breads with zesty dipping oils. That explosion of taste had everyone more than ready for the main event to come: our hog roast. Served along with our own sage and onion stuffing, apple sauce, and crispy crackling, it’s a delight for any occasion. With plenty of refreshing salad and potato sides to bulk out this incredible feast even further, this was a perfect way to mark a whopping 85 years of life.
And the most inspiring thing for the Hog Roast Tamworth team about this event was just how much more life Jayne still has in him. He was managing to make our catering manager Darren jealous as he described his plans to cruise around Canada and Alaska, and what he expects from his 90th 5 years from now.
