Turning 80 is no ordinary milestone. Marking 8 decades on the planet and becoming an octogenarian in the process, is a hugely momentous occasion. And, with an extraordinary life event comes extraordinary celebrations to match!
With that in mind, we are absolutely bursting with excitement to tell you all about the recent birthday bash that our Hog Roast Bolsterstone catering team worked at last month…
We had the utmost privilege of being invited to a rural, 16th-century, 7-bedroom estate; located in the Ewden Valley at the edge of the Peak District National Park in honour of an 80th birthday party. Boasting over 2 acres of perfectly cared for grounds, an orchard, a flourishing woodland garden and idyllic ponds, this breathtaking family home was an incredible sight to behold. And Hog Roast Bolsterstone was even luckier to witness the place in its full glory, awash with the sun’s warm rays!
Our client, Jane, had been the one to organise the entire affair, and striving to appease the dietary needs of all 60 guests who had been invited to join in the festivities, she had asked Hog Roast Bolsterstone to serve our Menu Option 3.
This meant a fab feast of slow-roasted pork was presented to the group, along with our homemade savoury sage and onion stuffing, applesauce, crackling and gluten-free rolls with roasted new potatoes, tomato and mozzarella salad, mixed green salad and coleslaw sides. To keep the vegetarians and vegans from going home hungry, our catering manager, James, pieced together some vegetable and halloumi skewers, which he grilled and served with flatbreads and a zesty tzatziki dip.
Jane and the rest of the celebrants couldn’t have been happier with the menu, which our team had presented beautifully in wooden bamboo bowls with mini place cards to help the guests find what they were looking for. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the alfresco dining experience that James and the Hog Roast Bolsterstone caterers created, and with a falconry display to keep the guests occupied, we’re confident this celebration will be remembered for many years to come – we certainly won’t forget the experience!
