On Halloween the Hog Roast Chilwell spent the first part of the afternoon away from any tricks or treats, as we instead headed out to Chilwell Business Park to cater for the fine people working at Stepney Construction.
Put together by Melissa there, the Hog Roast Chilwell team were invited to bring our corporate catering into this very special little fundraising event held for all of the Stepney Construction staff. As well as being a fundraiser, the event was also to double as their summer get together for the team. On that front, it may have only been a few months late and far, far colder, but the Hog Roast Chilwell team made sure to do our part in bringing a little of those summer vibes to the event with our dining all the same! The summer get together had initially been delayed on account of the heavy workload that the whole team was taking on over the warmer season, so we have little doubt that this corporate catered event felt like an even sweeter reward, even coming in late.
Before making it to the business park, however, the Hog Roast Chilwell did go through what looked to us like a small Halloween trick, for just a moment. A mix up in messaging meant the team initially set out to Chilwell Barracks, meaning our catering managers Darren and Claire had to go negotiate with some very bemused armed MPs who were sent scrambling around the barracks in search of a Melissa of Stepney Construction who had hired us. Thankfully, all was worked out in the end and instead everyone involved came away with a small Halloween treat in the form of an amusing story – though the MPs were feeling a little tricked having got excited about the prospect of our hog roast! Maybe next time, lads, because we had to head out to the business park where our client thankfully had not had to wait too long!
Our signature hog roast eventually made it to the right place, and the entire Stepney team certainly seemed to enjoy it and all of its usual trimmings!
