Hog Roast Sutton-in-Ashfield Attended A Surprise 30th Birthday

Being born in December might sound like a dream come true to some of you, but those of you who are Sagittarius babies will know all too well the hardships that can arise when you’re born too close to Christmastime. With everyone focused on preparing for the busiest party season of the entire year, it’s not unusual for people to forget all about those December birthdays! And with that in mind, Hog Roast Sutton-in-Ashfield received a bit of an unusual request from Katie…

The client called us back in November to discuss her ideas for her husband Andrew’s 30th birthday. At the time, she told us that her husband, who was born on December 18th, had never had a proper birthday party because it was too close to Christmas for everyone. This year, she wanted to change that. But she also wanted to play a bit of a practical joke on him, too.

So, in the weeks leading up to the party, Katie pretended she had completely forgotten about Andrew’s birthday – and she even convinced his friends and family to do the same! All the while, in the background, she was actually working alongside our catering manager, James, to come up with an amazing party for her hubby.

Hog Roast Sutton-in-AshfieldGoing the whole hog (pardon the pun!), Katie had rented out a function hall in a nearby hotel for the occasion and had curated a very detailed menu plan to suit the needs of every guest. This included antipasti platters and canapés, followed by a tasty hog roast (or grilled veggie kebabs) with salad, coleslaw and mixed fries; plus a tray of fresh-cut sandwiches, which were served later in the evening. Katie also commissioned a 3-tier birthday cake from Andrew’s favourite bakery, which Hog Roast Sutton-in-Ashfield sliced and dressed in fresh berries and cream!

By the time Andrew’s birthday arrived, everyone had done a fantastic job of making him think they had forgotten, which made the big reveal all the more wonderful.

When Katie brought him to the venue, everyone jumped out and yelled ”Happy Birthday!”, which had him grinning from ear to ear. Andrew harboured no ill feelings towards Katie for her joke. In fact, he couldn’t stop laughing and was so amazed that she’d managed so long without spilling the beans! As for the food, he was over the moon with everything Hog Roast Sutton-in-Ashfield served that evening.
