Hog Roast Everton’s catering crew had a fabulous weekend, the majority of which was spent outside enjoying the fresh air and festive atmosphere at a nearby Christmas market. If you’re lucky, you might even have spotted us there!
Everyone had spent weeks looking forward to the event, and with it being held outdoors, we had been praying for decent weather, too. Thankfully our prayers were answered, and both dates our team attended turned out to be gorgeous winter days. The sun even made an appearance against the pale blue skies, causing the frost-coated ground to sparkle like glitter in the cool sunlight. At 4°C, though, it was still very cold out, so the team had wrapped up warm before heading off to the town centre.
On both days, the Hog Roast Everton team manned a stall that had been designated to us by the event organiser, Lauren, who had been really keen for our caterers to attend the fete. After all, you can’t really have an open-air market without a hog roast…can you?
Due to the cold weather, it did take our team a little bit longer than usual to prep and cook the large pig to perfection, but once ready, a queue of punters quickly formed at the stall. The steam from the piping hot meat had billowed into the air, carrying with it mouth-watering fragrances of the succulent and juicy pork like a beacon, and everyone rushed to get first dibs on the beautiful creation.
Working like clockwork, Hog Roast Everton’s hardy band of caterers worked quickly to fill the gluten-free and wholemeal rolls with generous amounts of melt-in-the-mouth pulled pork, crunchy and crisp crackling, savoury sage and onion stuffing and a delicious dollop of sweet homemade applesauce. The market-goers were instantly amazed by the quality of the food our team served. So much so, in fact, that some returned for second helpings, while others asked to take home one of our business cards with the promise of reaching out for future events!
Lauren was also really impressed with how well the Hog Roast Everton team handled everything and has already invited us back for next year!
