The Hog Roast Sheffield team have catered a lot of events over our near thirty year run as a specialist event caterer. Among those events we have probably catered hundreds if not thousands of birthday parties. But in those three decades of birthday events we could probably count on our hands how many have been in the 90s, and we could probably count even further down with just one hand how many of those birthdays have been for a whopping 90th birthday party!
And yet here one landed with the Hog Roast Sheffield team just last week as we came out to a wonderful party for a wonderful man that showed, even at 90, you can still be the life of the party!
A 90th is a truly rare thing, so it was our true privilege to be able to cater for this very special event in Sheffield. Daughter Ann had contacted the Hog Roast Sheffield team to see if we could cater for her father’s 99th. Catering managers Darren and Claire were immediately excited at the prospect, and so of course we said yes and began drawing up plans of the menu right away. For such an occasion, we knew we would need something truly special to mark the day.
For such a special day and milestone birthday, a hog roast is always going to get the job done. As traditional and as authentic and classic as the man it was cooked in celebration of, our hog roast helped to make this an extraordinary party all the more so. Cooked and served along with our golden crackling, sage and onion stuffing, fresh apple sauce, grilled veg and halloumi skewers as a veggie alternative, green leaf salad, fresh gourmet coleslaw, and gluten free rolls and wraps, our hog roast feast proved more than enough for the 30 guests and the very special birthday guest.
What a wonderful event this was. The whole Hog Roast Sheffield team could not be any more thankful for getting to be part of such a special occasion for a special man. If there are invites going out anytime soon for the 91st, we’d love to be there for that one, too!
