A Book Club Celebrated Their Commencement With A Hog Roast Linby Feast

For some, the pandemic, specifically lockdown, had a silver lining; it helped them to discover new passions or reconnect with old hobbies that they had lost time for in the chaos of everyday life. And even now with everything returning to normal, many have managed to keep up with the recreational habits they formed while in solitude.

Reading, in particular, is one of these pastimes that people have enjoyed immersing themselves in, and contributing to the recent soar in book sales is Hog Roast Linby’s most recent client, Hailey. As a once voracious reader, she was grateful to have the time to reignite her love of novels, and now that she has, she never plans to slip back into her pre-pandemic ways.

To keep herself motivated and prevent herself from going back to her old habits, Hailey decided to launch her very own book club, which she has welcomed friends, family, colleagues and fellow bookworms in the local area to join. Hailey’s idea quickly proved popular with those around her, and very quickly she managed to get 20 people to join the club.

Hog Roast Linby The club held its first-ever meeting on Thursday evening, and to help them celebrate the start of their reading adventures, Hog Roast Linby was there to treat everyone to a scrumptious hog roast! Using the finest quality, free-range pork, our catering manager, James, expertly rustled up a generous batch of tender and juicy shredded pork, which he served on gluten-free rolls with crunchy crackling, savoury sage and onion stuffing and a dollop of applesauce. Since there were two non-meat-eaters in the group as well, James also made sure to prepare two portions of our vegan BBQ pulled jackfruit rolls, which are topped off with a zesty vegan ‘slaw.

To accompany the delicious meal, Hog Roast Linby also provided Italian antipasti platters of meat, cheese, artisan bread, olives, nuts and crackers for the members to pick away at as the night went on, and Hailey supplied craft beer and wine to make the occasion feel extra special.

The group had a great time, and before the night was up, they had a book picked out to discuss at their next get-together!
